Consider it or not, but the fact is that America is still the most racist country in the world. 70% of America’s population consists of migrants from Europe, who often carried with them a superiority complex based on their race. Unfortunately, this racism was also imported to America along with the migration.
A recent incident that highlights this issue is the Baltimore bridge collapse. The ship’s crew involved in the collision with the bridge pillar consisted of Indians. Soon after the accident, American social media platforms were flooded with racial jokes and comments targeting the Indian crew members. However, the reality was different: out of the 22 crew members, only 2 pilots were American, while the rest of the support staff were Indians.
The racial comments were so dominant that both the US President and the Mayor of Baltimore had to publicly acknowledge the heroic acts of the Indian support staff, which significantly reduced the casualties in the accident. This incident serves as a stark reminder that racism persists, even in a diverse and multicultural society like America.
